Leadership Update

NEWSLETTER INTRODUCTION

We are so pleased to launch our monthly newsletter for Holly Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Lafayette Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. This newsletter will provide an opportunity to update our staff and family members on the happenings in our communities, as well as providing other useful information.

October is a special month –not just because of our beautiful Michigan fall weather and the changing colors of the leaves – but because we have an entire month dedicated to raising the awareness of the benefits of physical therapy and to celebrate the outstanding professionals in this field. At Holly Village and Lafayette Park, we take great pride in the physical therapy services delivered to our residents. We see the results every day and know that our residents are receiving the best nursing and rehabilitation care possible. A special thanks to all the staff and family members who make our communities the outstanding nursing care centers that they are!

Also, I am pleased to acknowledge the outstanding occupancy and census numbers that are benefiting both Holly Village and Lafayette Park. Great work by the entire staff – from the admissions who are bringing the residents in, to the nursing staff caring for them, to the dining services team feeding them, to the housekeeping and maintenance staff keeping the buildings going, and to all other departments. Great work by everyone! It takes a team to operate at the high levels we have been operating at over the last several weeks.

Thank you and looking forward to a wonderful October!

Meet the Administrator

LEIGH MCLEOD - HOLLY VILLAGE

My name is Leigh McLeod, and I am the Administrator at Holly Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I have been at Holly Village since August 2025, and I am very proud to be the leader of this community.

We are able to provide care for 66 residents, with 18 semi-private rooms and 43 private rooms.

At Holly Village, we are committed to providing compassionate, personalized care in a warm, close-knit community. Our focus is on supporting residents through every step of their journey—from short-term rehabilitation to long-term care. With a dedicated team of nurses, therapists, and caregivers, we deliver expert clinical support with genuine warmth and respect, helping each resident maintain comfort, dignity, and the highest possible quality of life.

Our focus is on ensuring that the needs of our residents and their families are met with care and support.

Each month, we celebrate our staff members’ anniversaries and birthdays, and we are very proud of those who achieve perfect attendance.

We also celebrate staff members who have received the Shining Star Award, as nominated by residents, visitors, and fellow staff members.

We are looking forward to October! We will be having our Halloween party for residents and staff on October 30, 2026!

I would also like to congratulate Allie Moore, who has been promoted to our new Activities Director! Allie has been working at Holly Village as our Activity Coordinator and was trained by our previous Activities Director, Sara Moore. Our residents continue to enjoy participating in activities, especially Bingo!

October is often associated with crisp air, colorful leaves, and the transition from summer to fall. Here is a quote that reflects the spirit of the month:

“Breathe deeply; the crisp air holds new beginnings.”

Compliance

CODE OF CONDUCT

Holly Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Lafayette Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center are committed to compliant and ethical behavior and the provision of quality care.

We have a Code of Conduct that was developed to strengthen our commitment to these standards.

It serves as a guide to assist the facilities’ employees, volunteers, vendors, and representatives in understanding and following all applicable laws and regulations.

The Code of Conduct applies to all employees, independent contractors, volunteers, vendors, and other representatives, who are expected to understand and abide by its standards.

The Compliance Officer is Leigh McLeod, Administrator. She can be contacted at lmcleod@newcenterms.com.

If anyone has a compliance-related concern, please don’t hesitate to contact Leigh. She will investigate and follow up on concerns and work with the facilities to put processes in place to assist with improvement.

October Focus: Employee Conduct

“We shall perform our responsibilities in good faith, in a manner that is in the best interest of the facility, and with the due care that a reasonably prudent person in the same position would use under similar circumstances.

We shall avoid all illegal conduct, both in business and personal matters, including efforts to circumvent the law by devious means or questionable interpretations.

We shall comply with all laws, rules, and regulations at all levels of government. We shall be open and honest in our business relationships with other company employees.”

We have a concern program through which staff, residents, and families can document any concerns they may have. The Compliance Officer will follow up on those concerns, ensure they are appropriately addressed, and ensure that staff receive the appropriate education or counseling to assist in improving the quality of care provided to our residents.

Human Resources

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE WORK

Human Resources is about so much more than statistics, benchmarking, and hiring. At its heart, it is about people! Welcoming new team members while making sure everyone feels recognized, heard, and valued.

Being there for our team can mean answering a call at 9 p.m., responding to a question on weekends, or simply taking the time to listen when someone needs support. The work doesn’t always fit neatly into a 9-to-5 schedule, and it certainly isn’t just a list of tasks to check off. It is about supporting one another and helping create a workplace where people feel respected and appreciated.

To all the employees at Holly Village and Lafayette Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, thank you for the time, care, and dedication you give each day to our residents and to one another. Your hard work and compassion make a difference, and I am grateful for all that you do.

Thank you for being there.
